No strings attached, no fine print. If you need to return a book for any reason, you may do so within 21 days of your order date. To see your order date or print a shipping label and pack sheet, either log on to our web page and go to the My Orders section of the My Account page, or open your order confirmation email and click on the My Account link. Simply print off your FedEx shipping label and pack sheet, package your rental, and send it on its way. Your full refund minus the cost of shipping will be completed once the returned materials have been processed at our facility. All items must be in the original condition they were sent in and be shown as received by FedEx no later than twenty-one (21) days from your order date to qualify for a refund.
We will ship your rental materials as quickly as we can. Typically, orders will take 1-2 days to process and ship. We will correctly fill and ship your order with a new book or a used book in good or better condition.
We guarantee that our books will arrive to you in good or better condition. If you receive a book that is damaged or incorrect, you must notify Customer Service within fourteen (14) days of your order date. Once you do contact us, you have the option of choosing between having a replacement book shipped at no additional cost or returning the book for a full refund.
If you choose to have a replacement book, we will email you a free shipping label to return the damaged or incorrect book. Please make sure to return the book immediately, as you will be charged for keeping the original book if it is not scanned as received by FedEx within four (4) business days of our emailing you the return label. If the book isn't returned within this timeframe, late fees or rental extension fees may be applied.
We will make every effort to rent books that include related supplements such as a CD, online access code, DVD, etc. However, we cannot guarantee that supplemental materials will be included with your rental. If a CD, DVD, or other supplemental material is included with your book, you agree to return the supplement to us when the book is returned.
Rental books are intended to provide value to multiple users. While minimal highlighting is allowed, please "pay it forward" by helping us ensure that every renter receives the best quality textbook possible. Writing in your rental text is not allowed, and if a book is determined to be unrentable due to excessive highlighting or writing, you will be charged the purchase price of the book minus the rental fees you may have already paid.
Books are required to be kept in good or better condition, though we anticipate that books will show ordinary wear and may have some highlighting. If a rental book returned to us is damaged (torn or missing cover/pages, broken spine, moisture damage, loose binding, etc.) or in any manner rendered unusable, it will remain the property of Textbook Recycling Co., LLC and you will be charged an amount up to the purchase price of the book. You are responsible for the condition of the book once you have received it (see above if damaged book is received) up to and until we have received it at our facility. In those cases when the returned book is unusable, we'll contact you and offer to return the damaged book to you at your cost. If you do not respond and make arrangements for the return of the book within thirty (30) days of our contact, we will consider the book abandoned and dispose of it at our sole discretion.
You are deemed to be solely and fully responsible for the rented book and are responsible if it is stolen, damaged, or lost. If a book is lost or stolen, you have the option of sending us an identical book in the same or better condition before your rental period has elapsed. If no replacement book is sent to us, you will be charged the purchase price of the book minus the rental fees you may have already paid. Either log on to our web page and go to the My Orders section of the My Account page, or open your order confirmation email and click on the My Account link to pay for a lost or stolen book.
You are solely responsible for monitoring the rental return date and returning the rental materials to us within the timeframe specified in your order. By using our rental service, you agree to follow our return procedures and use our FedEx shipping label for the return of your rental item(s). You may always see your due date and print your pack sheet and FedEx shipping label from the My Orders section of the My Account page, or open your order confirmation email and click on the My Account link.
Carefully package your item(s) so no damage is likely to occur in transit, as you may be responsible for damage that occurs to items that have not been packaged appropriately. Any supplemental materials such as CD’s, DVD’s, workbooks, etc. that were originally included with your rental must be returned. Include a copy of your pack sheet to help ensure prompt processing of your returned item. We will email you when your return has been received and processing completed. Textbook Recycling Co., LLC is not responsible for any aspect of a return shipment that does not follow these procedures. Your item will be considered returned once it has been shown as received by FedEx, even though the book may not arrive at our facility for several more days. In order for a late fee not to be assessed, this returned date must be no later than your rental period’s due date.
If it appears that you will need the book longer than your rental period, we make purchasing an extension very easy. Simply log on to the My Orders section of the My Account page, or open your order confirmation email and click on the My Account link. You are solely responsible for monitoring your rental due date and for returning your book before your due date. Books received after your due date will be assessed a late fee.
If your book is not returned by its due date, we will automatically assess a late fee by charging your credit card the cost of a fifteen (15) day extension. If your book is returned after the expiration of the aforementioned fifteen (15) day automatic extension, you will be charged the purchase price of the book minus any rental fees you may have already paid. If you wish to have us return a book for which you are charged the purchase fee, contact Customer Service to make arrangements to have the book returned to you at your expense.
If you do not return your rental by the due date at the end of the automatic fifteen (15) day extension, you will be charged the purchase price of the book minus any rental fees you may have already paid. You may keep any book for which you are charged the purchase price.
At any time during your initial rental period, you may purchase a fifteen (15) or thirty (30) day extension of your rental period from the My Account page, or from your order confirmation email. You will be charged for whatever extension period you choose and your due date will automatically be extended. As only one (1) rental extension period is available per rental item, no automatic fifteen (15) day extension is given for late returns. You will be charged the purchase price minus any rental fees already paid for rentals returned after the extended due date. If you wish to buy your rental book, see Buying your Rental below.
At any time during your initial or extended rental period, you may purchase your rental book. Simply log on to the My Orders section of the My Account page, or open your order confirmation email and click on the My Account link. You will be charged the purchase price of the book plus any applicable taxes minus any rental fees already paid.
Your rental period begins on your order date, which is the day you place your order. The rental period ends on your due date, which you can always see at the My Account page or from your order confirmation email. If you have not received your book within ten (10) days of our email indicating your book has shipped, please contact us immediately at customerservice@textbookrecycling.com.
If you return the wrong book or item to us, we will attempt to contact you to arrange to have the materials sent back to you at your expense. We are not responsible if we are unable to contact you, or if you do not claim your materials. Materials mis-sent to us that are not claimed within thirty (30) days of receipt at our facilities will be considered abandoned and will be disposed of as seen fit by Textbook Recycling Co., LLC.

In the rare event that we ship you an item that does not match the item you ordered, an item arrives damaged in transit, or is delivered well after the expected delivery date, you may return the item for a full refund of all fees (rental charges, applicable taxes, shipping costs, etc.). However, you must notify us within twenty-one (21) days of your order date to receive the full refund. You are responsible for paying all applicable taxes associated with your rentals or purchases.
All rental items are the sole property of Textbook Recycling Co., LLC. Title to materials remains with Textbook Recycling Co., LLC unless and until you purchase your rental materials from us.
All rented items are protected by applicable copyright and contain proprietary information and material that is owned by Textbook Recycling Co., LLC and/or its licensors, suppliers or agents. Books/materials should not be used in any way whatsoever except in compliance with the terms of this Service Policy without express written permission from Textbook Recycling Co., LLC . No portion of any rented item may be reproduced in any form or by any means, except as expressly permitted hereunder. You agree not to copy, scan, photocopy, modify, rent, lease, loan, sell, distribute, reproduce, or create derivative works based on the rented items, in any manner, or otherwise commercially exploit the rented items. Textbook Recycling Co., LLC reserves the right to terminate your account and rental if we, in our sole and absolute discretion, believe that you are in violation of these terms. Textbook Recycling Co., LLC does not promote, foster or condone the copying of CDs, written publications, or any other rented items nor does it condone any other infringing activities. The use of CDs and publications rented to you is solely for your personal and non-commercial use. ANY OTHER USE IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED AND INFRINGES ON THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF OTHERS AND MAY SUBJECT YOU TO CIVIL AND CRIMINAL PENALTIES, INCLUDING POSSIBLE MONETARY DAMAGES, FOR COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT.

We will charge your credit/debit card for the purchase price of the book(s) or item(s) plus applicable tax and shipping charges when you purchase an item from us. When you receive your purchased item from Textbook Recycling Co, the item becomes your property.
We will ship your purchases as quickly as we can process your order, which is typically within 1-2 business days of receiving your order. When we receive your order, we will send you an email confirming the order. When your purchase is shipped, an email with shipping details, return instructions, our contact information, and other information will be sent to you.
In the event that you ordered the wrong book, your class was canceled, or you wish to return your item for any reason, we will accept your returned purchase for a refund provided you follow this return policy.
To receive a refund, we must receive the returned text or item in the same condition it was mailed to you within twenty-eight (28) days of your order date. Any supplemental materials such as CD’s, DVD’s, workbooks, etc. that were originally included with your purchase must be returned in order to receive your refund. We strongly recommend that you use FedEx to return your purchase, as their shipments are trackable, insured, and arrive faster than those of most other shippers. To print a pack sheet and FedEx return label for your purchase, please log on and follow the instructions and procedures at the My Orders section of the My Account page. If you choose FedEx shipping for your return, we will deduct $7.00 per book/item or $12.00 a box from the amount of your refund to help defray your return shipping expenses. We have no financial interest in FedEx, but we have learned from years of shipping books that they provide the reliability and efficiency that our customers prefer.
If you choose to ship with the US Postal Service, UPS, or another shipper, paying for these shipping charges will be your sole responsibility and no deduction from your refund for shipping charges will be made. If you choose a shipper other than FedEx, we strongly recommend that you purchase additional services such as insurance and tracking confirmation. Textbook Recycling Co. assumes no responsibility for late, damaged, or lost items sent by a shipping method other than FedEx and will issue partial or no refunds for late, damaged, or lost items. Once we have received your returned item(s), we will initiate the refund. Typically, once we have initiated a refund to your credit/debit card, it will be 1-2 days before that transaction appears on your card.
In the event that we shipped you the wrong item or your purchase arrived damaged in transit and you wish to return your purchase, please follow the instructions above to return your item via FedEx. We will assume all FedEx ground shipping charges for such shipments, so no deduction from your refund for shipping charges will be made.
