    What services do you provide?
    TextbookRecycling.com provides customers with an easy way to buy or sell textbooks and to compare prices for textbook across the web.

    What kind of books do you buy and sell?
    TextbookRecycling.com primarily buys and sells textbooks. We also buy other fiction and non-fiction titles depending on current market demand. If a title or ISBN isn’t listed in our database, we are not currently buying that title.

    What is your policy regarding privacy and confidentiality?
    We understand that your privacy and confidentiality are extremely important. Any personal information that you give us such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, or any credit card information is kept strictly confidential and is used only to provide you with the best possible online experience.     What is the best way to contact Textbook Recycling?

    How do I get paid for my books?
    When you are creating a buyback quote you can select payment by check or by PayPal. Please note that we are unable to change the method of payment, the payment recipient or make other adjustments to the payment method once you have created your buyback quote.

    Where is my money?
    If you selected payment by check you will receive your payment via USPS 7-10 calendar days after your buyback has been checked in and processed. If you selected payment by PayPal you will receive your payment 1 -4 calendar days after your buyback has been checked in and processed. During particularly busy periods it could take 3-5 calendar days for us to check in and process a buyback. Note that checked in and processed is different than receiving your buyback. If UPS tracking indicates that we have received your buyback but you have not seen any updates in your customer profile or received email notification regarding payment status this means that your package is currently in our facility and waiting to be processed. You are able to see the current status of your buyback and payment under My Account > My Buybacks.

    I want my books back
    When checking in and processing your buyback we occasionally have to adjust the value of your buyback quote as one, some or all of your books may fail to meet our terms and conditions. You will be informed via email as to which book(s) failed to meet our terms and conditions, what terms and conditions they failed to meet and the adjusted value of the book. This information is available under My Account > My Buybacks. We put these books on a 72-hour courtesy hold. If you wish to have your books returned go to My Account > My Buybacks within 72 hours of receiving the notification email and click on the "Request Book Return" link, we charge a $3.95 shipping and handling fee per book. After 72 hours any books you don’t want returned are recycled.

    Are price quotes guaranteed?
    Price quotes will be honored in accordance to our Buyback Terms and Conditions. Books must be dropped off with our shipping carrier and trackable within 3 calendar days of the buyback price quote being given. Books that are dropped off after 3 calendar days of the buyback price quote being given are subject to be priced according to the current prices listed in our database at that time we receive them at our processing facility. In such cases the prices may vary from those in your original quote and your books may have dropped in value or no longer have value. The adjusted value of your order will be visible under My Account > My Buybacks along with detailed notes explaining the adjusted value.

    My book originally had a CD, study guide, or other accessories. Do I need to send them when shipping you my books that I am selling?
    If your book includes an online access code (e.g., MyMathLab, MyStatLab, MyEconLab, etc) the included access code must be valid and unused. If the code is exposed or visible in any way, the code is considered used and is no longer valid. As a result, you may receive less than the original quote or no compensation at all. If your book originally included a CD, study guide or other accessory, you must include this when shipping your book to us. If we do not receive the CD, study guide or other accessory that accompanies the book we quoted for you may receive less than the original quote or no compensation at all.     How do you determine whether a book is graded as "new" or "used"?
    A book that is graded as "new" should be in pristine condition. That is, it should look like it just arrived from the publisher- the way you would typically find a book when bought new at a bookstore. Often, if a book is slightly scuffed, the corners are worn or damaged, or if the cover is slightly bent (this is most likely to happen with paperbacks), these will be graded as "used" because they cannot be sold as new. It is very important to pack your books carefully when you are shipping! (Please see shipping instructions on prepaid label provided with your quote). We make every effort to grade books as "new" if possible because we want you to receive the highest price possible so you will continue to use our services. Please note that even though a book was never used, it may not be graded as "new" condition if it does not arrive in pristine condition.     How do you determine that a textbook is a non-authorized copy?
    Some popular textbooks are illegally reproduced as non-authorized or counterfeit copies. We receive regular updates from publishers with detailed guides that highlight how to spot such copies. When we receive one of these copies and are unable to definitively authenticate the book as an authorized copy we will not pay for that book and reserve the right to inform the publisher and government agencies the origin of the book. You will not receive payment for any books received by us that we are unable to authenticate. The adjusted value of your order will be visible under My Account > My Buybacks along with detailed notes explaining the adjusted value. Will you accept books that have highlighting and/or writing in them? How about damaged books? What makes a book “unacceptable”? Yes, we will accept books with highlighting and writing in them as long as no more than 25% of the pages of the book include any markings. The exception to this rule is that study guides, workbooks, lab manuals, working papers, practice/exercise books, activity books, and any books with blank answer fields must have NO writing OR highlighting in them for you to receive payment. We also will not accept any books that have damage such as a loose binding, cover or pages partially or entirely torn off, mold damage, stuck pages, water damage of any kind, loose or missing pages, or pages with tape or other foreign materials bound to them. You will not receive payment for any books received by us in unacceptable condition.     Will you accept "Review Copies" or books that have "Instructor's Editions," "Free Copy" or "Professional Copy" printed on them?
    We accept these books if the exact ISBN match is in our database. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have sent an exact ISBN match and that the ISBN you are quoting has not been altered, obscured or covered in any way and is directly printed on the book and not a sticker. We will NOT pay you for these titles unless the exact ISBN is listed as having value in our online database.     Will you accept International Editions, Custom Editions, or Loose Leaf Editions?
    We will purchase these titles ONLY if the exact ISBN match for the international edition, custom edition, or loose leaf edition is in our database. The ISBNs for these books are typically printed on the outside of the book itself or on the cover pages of the loose leaf version. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have sent an exact ISBN match and that the ISBN you are quoting has not been altered, obscured or covered in any way and is directly printed on the book and not a sticker. We will NOT pay you for these titles unless the exact ISBN is listed as having value in our online database. The adjusted value of your order will be visible under My Account > My Buybacks along with detailed notes explaining the adjusted value.

    I have more than one copy of the same book. Will you take multiple copies?
    Yes. When you complete a quote the page will tell you how many copies we can take, to a maximum of 10. If you have more than that, you will need to contact us before sending them. If you send more than indicated copies of a particular book, we could pay less than the quoted total or in some cases no payment at all. Prices offered for bulk quantities may be more or less than what is quoted on our web site depending on our need for a particular title at the time of your request.

    Books that have no value but can be accepted for donation are indicated on the results page of your price quote.

    Do you buy old editions or books that are not textbooks?
    Yes. We buy many old edition books. Typically, their value will be less than the current edition. We also buy other categories of books including fiction and non-fiction. If a title or ISBN isn’t listed in our database, we are not currently buying that title.

    What if a book is not listed in your database? How reliable is your database?
    You will find that the large majority of books you entered into our database will appear in your quote. If the ISBN you entered does not come up in your quote, check that you entered the number correctly. Our pricing database is extremely reliable and accurate; however, in the very rare case that our database should be in error or for any other reason, TextbookRecycling.com reserves the right to refuse books. In such cases where the error is ours, TextbookRecycling.com will ship such books back at no cost to you.

    How do I pack & ship my books to Textbook Recycling?
    It is your responsibility to make sure that your buyback order has been dropped off at our shipping carrier and is trackable within 3 calendar days of the buyback quote being given. Packing and shipping instructions are provided on your personalized prepaid merchandise return label provided for you when you check out following your price quote. If you are unable to do this, please follow the instructions below:
    Packing Instructions

    1. Place your book(s) in a box or bubble mailer with as little extra space as possible.
    2. Any extra space should be filled with non-print paper to keep books from slipping around. PLEASE DO NOT FILL SPACE WITH STYROFOAM PEANUTS OR OTHER STYROFOAM PRODUCTS.
    3. Close and secure the box using sturdy packing tape.
    4. Place and tape a prepaid mailing label to each package making sure not to cover any barcodes or postage fee information. Please indicate the number of packages in your buyback order (e.g., 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3, etc.).

    Shipping Instructions For UPS Ground

    1. Drop your package(s) off at any UPS drop off location. To find a UPS drop off location near you, click here.
    2. Insurance and tracking are automatically included with UPS shipping. You may track the location of your package anytime by visiting the UPS website and entering your tracking numbers.

    Shipping from Alaska, Hawaii and Canada

    We accept books from Alaska, Hawaii and Canada. A $1.00/lb surcharge will be deducted from the value of all books shipped to us from Alaska and Hawaii. A $.75/lb surcharge will be deducted from the value of all books shipped to us from Canada.     What condition are the books you have for sale?
    We sell both "new" and "used" books. We do not sell books that have torn or missing pages, stuck pages, torn covers, or excessive highlighting/writing in them. We do our very best to describe all of the items we have for sale as accurately as possible whether they are new or used. If you find that you are not satisfied with your order for any reason, you may return your purchase for a full refund, provided that you meet the conditions of our return policy.

    What forms of payment do you accept? Is payment secure?
    All major credit cards are accepted including American Express, Discover, Master Card, & Visa. Payment is made immediately using our encrypted, SSL technology. We use DigiCert and Authorize.net for encryption and authentication to securely process your transaction.

    How long will it take for my book to ship once I have ordered it?
    We typically ship your book within 1 business day from the time of your order. Please be aware that mail services are not available on weekends and holidays, so ordering on such days may delay your order from being processed.

    What shipping methods are available?
    We use the U.S. Postal Service as our primary shipping service. The most economical method of shipping is Media Mail Standard Shipping. It typically will take anywhere from 3-10 days for you to receive your package, depending on your location in relation to our Moscow, Idaho facility. Customers needing their book within 2-4 days should choose Priority Mail (expedited shipping).

    How can I check the status of my order?
    You will receive an e-mail notifying you when your book(s) have been shipped. Using the delivery confirmation number provided in the e-mail, you may go to the USPS website (www.USPS.com) to check the status of your package.

    How do I cancel an order?
    If you need to cancel an order before it has been shipped, please notify us as soon as possible by sending an e-mail to customerservice@textbookrecycling.com or calling us toll free at 1-844-304-2665. Please keep in mind that we generally process orders within 1 business day. If your order has already been shipped, you will have to follow our return policy.

    I need to return a book. What is your return policy?
    We are happy to issue a full refund provided that the book is received back in the condition in which it was sent out within 30 days of the original purchase date. We will not refund the cost of shipping unless we have made an error- in this case we will reimburse you for shipping costs. To return a book, please log on and follow the instructions and procedures at the My Orders section of the My Account page. Once the returned book is received by us, you will be issued a refund to the credit/debit card you used to make the purchase.
